Urbex

Urbex (urban exploration) photography is the practice of documenting abandoned or forgotten man-made places like old factories, hospitals, and homes through photography. It focuses on capturing the decay of these locations and how nature reclaims them, often highlighting historical remnants and the stories of their past.

Festival Of Colours - Knock Out challenge
Meeting: Sunday, November 8, 2026

The challenge will be organised as a "Knock-out" with only 2 images per person, because the meeting coincides with our AGM. Make sure your images have a big impact at first sight!!!
Colour photography. Find subjectmatter with vibrant and many different colours. Make sure the colours fill the entire image. Try to avoid different colour-families in 1 image.

Presentation by Dave Griffiths

Dave Griffiths is a member of the Wallingford Photo Club.
He has been shooting aviation for over 20 years and particularly enjoy the additional challenges and thrills of Air-to-Air work. He has worked in the UK and abroad with the Royal Air Force, French Air Force, Belgian Air Force, US Air Force and the Royal Canadian Air Force as well as for Airshows and Private Clients.
He will talk about how he got started in aviation photography and how he approaches his subject matter. And, of course, he will show some of the dramatic images he has captured.

In the Air
Meeting: Sunday, January 10th, 2027
Meeting Time: 10:00 AM
Location: Online & Live at Hotel “El Puntazo”
Quite simply, anything that is in the air. Examples include: things that fly such as birds or planes, provided they are actually in the air; things that are thrown up such as a ball, sea spray; tethered items such as balloons, kites, paragliders, etc.; people or animals jumping; falling rain or snow provided the main subject is not something else. Clouds and smoke are also "In the Air" provided that they are the subject but the sun and moon are not. Interpretive images are also acceptable such as cabin crew serving customers on a flight or views from an aircraft window.
