We will have our second Joint meeting with the Gateway Camera Club in the US on 22nd June. The plan for this year is slightly different to last year. This year, we are inviting our members to choose their own image to be shown on the day. Each member who has an image shown will be expected to give a short description/explanation about their image. This will be followed by comments or a short discussion from those attending the meeting. If you do not wish to talk at the meeting or are unable to do so, you can prepare a written statement and ask someone else to present it for you. The meeting will be in English.
Last years event was a great success but we were a victim of or own success, with the meeting over-running considerably. This year we will have 20 images per club (24 last year) and also ask members to limit their presentation to no more than one minute.
To prepare for this event, please can you send one, preferably, two images to the usual place - images@veraphotoclub.org with a subject title of USA images and filenames of your name01, your name 02 to reflect your preference order. It is anticipated that one image per member will be shown on the day but the second may be shown if we receive fewer than 20 submissions.
Please DO NOT send more than 2 images.
The aim of the event, like last year, is to give the Americans a flavour of photography in Europe and vice versa. Therefore, in selecting your images, please confine your images to those taken in Europe, not worldwide. There is no restriction on subject, type of photo, etc. so you can include creative imagery, portraits, pretty well anything - the only restriction is geographic.
Please can you submit your images by 1st June.
The interclub competition with Wallingford Camera Club on Thursday 20th of March at 8p.m. was a success!
The score was : Wallingford Camera Club: 339 - VIPC: 336
Wallingford had 2 images withheld for “best of the competition” and we had 5!!!!
The top 3 was chosen: Vivien Dacie-Ward’s “Coralie” was elected the winner and Frank Notteboom’s “Little arrangement” came 3rd. Congratulations
Tendremos nuestra segunda reunión conjunta con el Gateway Camera Club en los EE. UU. el 22 de junio. El plan para este año es ligeramente diferente al del año pasado. Este año, invitamos a nuestros miembros a elegir su propia imagen para mostrarse ese día. Se espera que cada miembro que tenga una imagen mostrada dé una breve descripción/explicación sobre su imagen. Esto será seguido por comentarios o una breve discusión de los asistentes a la reunión. Si no desea hablar en la reunión o no puede hacerlo, puede preparar una declaración escrita y pedirle a otra persona que la presente por usted. La reunión será en inglés.
El evento del año pasado fue todo un éxito, pero fuimos víctimas de nuestro propio éxito, ya que la reunión se extendió considerablemente. Este año tendremos 20 imágenes por club (24 el año pasado) y también pedimos a los miembros que limiten sus presentaciones a un máximo de un minuto. Se prevé que se muestre una imagen por miembro ese día, pero la segunda podría mostrarse si recibimos menos de 20 envíos.

El objetivo del evento, al igual que el año pasado, es dar a los estadounidenses una idea de la fotografía en Europa y viceversa. Por lo tanto, al seleccionar sus imágenes, limítense a las tomadas en Europa, no en todo el mundo. No hay restricciones de tema, tipo de foto, etc., así que puedes incluir imágenes creativas, retratos, prácticamente cualquier cosa. La única restricción es geográfica.
Por favor, envía tus imágenes antes del 1 de junio.
El concurso interclubes con el Wallingford Camera Club, celebrado el jueves 20 de marzo a las 20:00, fue todo un éxito.
La puntuación fue: Wallingford Camera Club: 339 - VIPC: 336.
Wallingford tuvo 2 imágenes reservadas para la "mejor del concurso" y nosotros obtuvimos 5. Se eligieron los 3 mejores: "Coralie" de Vivien Dacie-Ward fue elegida ganadora y "Little arrange" de Frank Notteboom quedó en tercer lugar. ¡Enhorabuena!
